So the snow is now on its way to the UK & you could be in for a white Christmas! Doesnt it look pretty with snow on the ground, houses, cars etc & if you’re in the countryside then it can be so beautiful. But then how long is it until the novelty wears off and its actually more of a nuisance than how pretty it looks! I know for me the novelty wore off as soon as I had to go out in it! You have to scrape it off your car windows and lights before you can even go anywhere & by the time you’ve done that, you’re freezing! Then there’s public transport. Well I wont even go in to that too much, apart from everything comes to a standstill! So now you’ve got to walk at least part of your journey until you can find some kind of public transport that is actually running. The kids are pelting you with snowballs and even though you’d like to ‘get them back’ you’re far too cold to even think about making a snowball. Shivering, even though you’re wearing a thick coat, scarf, hat, gloves, 2 pairs of socks, oh & dont forget the thermals! It’s no wonder you can hardly walk & when your feet go numb with the cold & you slip on the ice & fall over, it’s then not the only thing that is numb! Oh the joy of being in the UK in winter! Well I dont know if you can tell, but I dont miss that one little bit! I’d much rather be in North Cyprus where it’s warmer, the sun is shining & you choose to walk as the sea & mountain views are so lovely. I can honestly say that last Christmas I was looking up at a blue sky with only the odd cloud to break it up, I had my photo taken with my feet in the swimming pool & 3 days after Christmas when my brother & his family arrived we were walking around the harbour in short sleeves and shorts or cropped trousers! Time to make enquiries about your next holiday? Yes I think it is!
