FLIGHTS TO ERCAN AIRPORT
Flights to Ercan take approximately 6 hours. The flight will go from the UK to an airport in Turkey, and then on to Ercan airport in the North. Most airlines will just have a ‘touchdown' in Turkey, where some people get off, and others get on for the onward flight to Cyprus. The majority of these airlines will let you stay on the plane for this changeover, although others will make you get off and change planes for your onward journey. Either way, you are normally only in Turkey for an hour or less. When booking a flight it will advise you of the flight time. Be aware of this as if the connecting flight is fully booked, you might have a couple of hours wait in the airport for your connecting flight. Again, airport transfers can be arranged in a private air-conditioned taxi. Airport transfers from Ercan to Kyrenia take around 45 minutes.
